Here are a couple of the beautiful murals covering the buildings of the Arts District. The first photo is of The 4th Street Collaboration by Christina Angelina and Fanakapan, and the second photo is the Aspire to Inspire mural by WRDSMTH. Fun fact about these works of art according to Trip Savvy: most of them were made in defiance of the ban placed on murals instated by the city from 2003 to 2013. This bit of history adds so much character and personality to the neighborhood, making it that much cooler!

These are a couple of the amazing restaurants in the neighborhood, with Würstkuche being a personal favorite. They serve delicious German sausages, fries, and beer with indoor and outdoor seating. The Pie Hole, in the second photo, offers both savory and sweet pies, coffee, and tea.

Here are the two breweries you can find in the neighborhood. The first picture is of the Arts District Brewing Company. During non-COVID times, you can enjoy a beer, some food, and a variety of arcade games. My friend, who introduced me to this neighborhood, said this brewery holds video game tournaments on occasion – so cool! The second photo is of Angel City Brewery where you can get amazing beer in an awesome, open venue and enjoy the food truck they have parked right outside.

You can find local sellers who come to sell their art, vintage pieces, and other curated items at the Arts District Co-op. During non-COVID times they occasionally have bands playing live music while you shop.
This is just a small slice of what the Arts District has to offer. My advice is to come check it out yourselves to truly experience this historic neighborhood! There might even be a special surprise for you breathalysercanada lovers… ;) Follow us on IG @lovestitchclothing to stay up to date on what’s coming.

You’ve got vacation time to use up before the end of the year and nowhere to go. Thankfully, if you live near LA, you’ve got plenty of options beyond the obvious galleries and restaurants. And plenty of outdoor options, which most health professionals believe is safer compared with indoor activities amidst Covid-19. Here are a few of our favorite things to do in and around LA during a shutdown!

Runyon Canyon:
It may be cliché, but cliché for a reason! Runyon canyon is a popular running and hiking trail above Hollywood, CA. Here you will find breathtaking views of the city, perfect for that Instagram post (which, let’s be honest, is part of the appeal of Runyon).

Rosie’s Dog Beach:
Our dogs deserve some love too! Drive south to Long Beach and spend the day pampering your furry best friend. Here you can go off leash and let loose. And while you're down there, don't forget to hit up The Attic for some fried chicken on their patio. Rumor has it they have a dog menu, too! :)

Lake Arrowhead:
They call it the Alps in Southern California. Located about 80 miles from the city, in the San Bernardino Mountains, is a picturesque resort town called Lake Arrowhead. When you need to get away from it all, even when the city is quieter than usual, the lake provides a respite. And, if you can believe it, it snows here in the Winter!
Drive-In Movie Theater:
Craving a movie? How about upgrading your usual movie going experience and hitting up a drive-in! Not only is it a cute retro feel, you’re also much safer in your car than sitting shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of strangers. And you can bring your own snacks!!
We love the Electric Dusk Drive-In Theater in Glendale. Located in an old Sears parking garage, you can catch contemporary and older classic films here.
Be safe, and enjoy!

Los Angeles is a mecca for delicious food and the hottest new restaurants and bars. With all of the places there are to go, there remain a few hidden gems across the city that are relatively, still flying under the radar. Because we love you so much, we want to share these amazing little places with you and we hope you get the chance to experience them! Here they are, in no particular order:
1. The Daily Dose Cafe, 1820 Industrial Street, Los Angeles CA 90021
Best eggs in DTLA! We absolutely love this perfect little cafe nestled between old warehouse buildings in the Arts District. Walk down a beautiful cobblestone lined path with beautiful wood and steel tables, umbrellas and hanging string lights. This magical little place serves up the best breakfast in town, like the Mona Lisa Omelette with brie and mushrooms and the Margot Egg Sando which features fluffy scrambled eggs and housemade chipotle ketchup. Don't miss out on lunchtime either, the Farmer Sandwich is an award winning vegetarian sandwich that must be experienced, words can not describe the epic deliciousness. Oh, and there is this real fancy grilled cheese, the Guildsmith Sandwich on ciabatta bread with grilled Haloumi cheese. Need I say more?
2. Blue Star Restaurant, 2200 E. 15th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021
In between large industrial buildings, a steel recycling center and massive clothing factories, lies a magical little diner called The Blue Star. It has indoor seating as well as a nice little patio outside. They have delicious beers on tap and really delicious food. The Mac & Cheese is a definite winner you won't want to miss out on. A personal favorite is the Grilled Chopped Vegetable Salad, healthy and crave-worthy. Overall this place has great diner food and a cool little vibe.
3. Localita & the Badasserie, 817 S. Los Angeles Street, 1st Floor Lobby, Los Angeles, CA 90014
Localita is one of those places that if you happen to blink while you're driving by, you will most definitely miss it. It is a tiny little hole in the wall on Los Angeles Street on the first floor of the Academy Award Clothing Building. Localita is a little vegan joint and their motto is "Eat Nice, Live Naughty." We love this place. Not just because they have a motto that resonates with us, we love them for making the most delicious vegan breakfast sandwich known to man. We say this statement with confidence. This sandwich is called the OG Badass Breakfast Sandwich and we assure you that it is badass. Here's the deal, this sando has a vegan breakfast patty, covered in Daiya Cheddar Cheese, drizzled with maple syrup and finished with a chipotle sauce on a multigrain sprouted english muffin. It seems simple, but it is anything but. If you're in LA, check it out. You will NOT be disappointed.
Hope you are all hungry! :)
]]>The interior of the Central Library in Downtown Los Angeles is truly breathtaking, Dean Cornwell’s colorful lobby mural, which represents was completed in the early 1930's. The original building opened in 1926 and was designed by well known Neo-Gothic architect Bertram Governor Goodhue. He was inspired by ancient Egyptian elements such as the mosaic pyramid at the top along with Mediterranean Revival-style appearance.
Later, in the late 1980s and early 1990s renovation and expansions took place which also gave it a Modernist/Beaux-Arts look. This Library has been named to be top most beautiful libraries in the world by several publications. We take pride in our Los Angeles based background and enjoy sharing the incredible sights Los Angeles has to offer!
The Central Library in Downtown is one of Lovestich's many inspirations! Check out our Stylists Picks to see if you can spot some some items that scream "Los Angeles!".
