It’s hard to believe it's already September. And as we approach the first day of fall, I’m filled with thoughts of leaves changing, temperatures dropping, and the return of the ever-controversial pumpkin spice latte. Is it too early to put out my fall décor??
Another subject we’ve been mulling over is how to update our wardrobe during those awkward days between summer and fall that are not quite hot and not quite cold. One day we’re leaving the house in just a Mila Maxi tank dress, and the next day we may feel like we need extra layers to stave off a slight chill in the air. So, how do we make the most of all the breezy Summer styles we invested in earlier this year? What's the best way to update those styles to make them Fall friendly?
We've got a few tips on how to transition your Summer wardrobe for Fall.
It’s all about the layers. Maybe it’s layering a dress with tights, throwing a sweater on over a slip dress, or layering your Summer blouse with a cardigan. Now is the time to invest in cozy layers. Some of our favorite new styles include a fuzzy sweater coat, a chic plaid jacket, and a fuzzy hooded cardigan.

Add accessories. Shoes, scarves, and bags can make a big impact. Signal Fall with texture, patterns and prints, and color. Our favorite fall accessories add a warm touch with shearling details, croc-embossed leather, and warm color palettes.

Invest in essentials that are season-less. A classic ribbed tee or a lace trim camisole are perfect worn on their own during hotter days and nights, but these basics are just as essential layered under heavy knits during colder months. We love our updated take on the classic camisole for it's ultra-thin straps and pretty self-covered button-up back. The lace front detail looks special peeking out underneath a cozy cardigan. Our cropped sleeveless knit jumpsuit works well on its own in the Summer, but can be easily layered over a tee for fall. And our bamboo ribbed long sleeve tee is an essential year round staple that looks polished on its own or layered under a sweater coat.

Gorgeous florals in warm tones invoke fall feelings. These transitional styles can be styled for late summer or warmed up with boots for fall. A lightweight blouse in florals instantly goes from summer to fall-ready when tucked into darker denim, and a chic floral mini dress can be updated with a change of shoe.
